Every now and then manufacturers throw a smartphone on the market, which has a transparent back. The HTC U12 Plus, for example, allows a look at the “innards” of the cell phone, at least in the color variant “Translucent Blue” . That has probably also fallen Xiaomi . The Explorer Edition of the Xiaomi Mi 8 also features important components such as Qualcomm’s Snapdragon processor. The items have been lined up nicely next to each other, which even before the release of the smartphone doubt came up, whether the manufacturer has cheated here maybe something. Now it turns out that the critics are right. Instead of putting on real components, owners of the Xiaomi Mi8 see only a kind of props – plastic instead of motherboard, so to speak.
See what the wrong motherboard looks like in the following video from JerryRigEverything. He took the smartphone apart and revealed the fake. Even the supposed layer of carbon fiber is really nothing more than a sticker.
Xiaomi Mi 8 Explorer Edition passes endurance test
Apart from the cosmetic interventions on the part of the manufacturer, the Xiaomi Mi 8 looks pretty good in its endurance test. The display is scratch-resistant up to grade 6 and the fingerprint sensor integrated directly into the display does its job even after the fire test – but traces of the lighter remain on the display. The smartphone bends easily, but does not break. As soon as the pressure drops, it returns to its original position.
